this lovely little spot was fun, not just because the folks at Humanaut are wildly creative and most fun, (lllllove working with Chad Harris ) but because the animal wranglers brought so many well behaved chicken & goats oh and the humans did really well too :)
I Can't Believe It's Not Butter stop motion spots
this spot was SO much fun. anytime anyone asks me to produce miniature sets, i’m simply over the moon. these 3 spots were meant for the award season, date night, and movie night. the spray bottle “talent” did the most amazing job and looked so good doing so. Our Crew, the most talented, killed it as well.xx

The Bicentennial Celebration of Jefferson County
these numbers were CNC routed out of foam insulation and glued together. Once painted, they hung from filament to give the illusion that they were floating. they turned out pretty good .
This month, Jefferson County is celebrating its 200th birthday! The bicentennial is a time of reflection and celebration—for both of which there is plenty of inspiration.

Andrea is a best selling Pho Cookbook Author & James Beard award winner and she was dream on set. she introduced me to Nori Dust & Wok feet… among other really delicious recipes. Her personality inspired this fun, young, california-vibe for tabletop props and set dec. The paintings i made for her set ended up matching one of her shirts! which totally made my day.

Valvolene Oil Change | waiting room
when you are tasked to create 2 of the most boring, dingy, automotive oil-change waiting rooms out of empty rooms… old tube tv (check) , old magazines/ rack (check) mismatched chairs (check) and random switches and plugs on the wall (check), imperfectly curated posters and signs on the wall (check). this one was fun.

styling the set for F&W cooks, i hope to capture the personality of each chef, pulling props, lighting and even painting pieces of art that feel like them. Hunter has this elevated timeless masculine kinda vibe and that’s what i had in mind dressing it. allll the recipes were delicious. def. worth a watch.

BBQ&A set with Robby Melvin
Building the set of the Southern Living show Barbeque & A was a lot of fun because it included shopping around some of the south’s flea malls to gather some of the layers we needed to sell the look. we used brick paneling and painted a faux sign on it, and printed some backward decals for the window to make the most of the small space. cheap track light practicals and lil a (LED) neon put the final touches on it.
Valvolene Pit pals
getting to build tiny sets is always a favorite. this time it was for the Valvolene Pit Pals Garage & BIG Communications. we used a cell phone as a television, lots of miniature practicals and built a side wall garage door and covered it with velum to allow light to pass through. all the other elements were either doll house items or hand made from oven bake clay. .. i mean, cuteness overload.

i had the best time styling this Chawanmushi recipe from Eric Wolfinger are infused with umami-rich dashi and soy. one of the best parts about working with Food + Wine are sampling these super delicious recipes!
where legends are made
on this eve of the championship game, tomorrow i'm gonna be cheering on the legends ((roll tide)). this spot was a blast, as it's always an honor working with Miller Mobley (director) , Eric Anderson (DP), and a crew that's become like a second family.
